Default WTB: 928 Cross Member for manual transmission

*** I no longer need a replacement ***

I need to replace the cross member in my 88 S4 5spd because it has received some structural wear as a result of the rear upper control arms being installed incorrectly. You can read more about that in this post.

I am looking for part number 92833113118

If you have one available, please PM me the condition, price, and any pictures you have.

Thanks in advance.
Mike

I have an available spare cross-member that came with my car when I purchased it, but I do not know if it came from a Manual or Automatic car.

Does it matter? Is there a way to tell from a photo?

My understanding is that is does matter, would you be able to provide a part number? It should be stamped someplace on the part.

Yes no problem. I'll take a photo and check for P/N today when I get home.

Pretty sure this part was same throughout the 928 lifetime. There are two sets of mountings, one for manual trans and one for Rogerbox.

the pre S4 ones are different as they don't have the tabs to hold the S4 muffler hangers.

Of three that I have they are all different from each other; two of them only by the addition of an extra hole on each side, but the third one, the one I think is for a manual, has the extra holes and the additional tabs, shown in these pictures:

Thanks everyone. I was able to source a cross member. Actually the dealer who is remediating the issues that caused the damage is going to install a new cross member and change me $250. That is a very reasonable offer, so I am going that route.

Thank you all for the prompt responses and offers.

Glad you found one!

I took a closer look at the crossmember that I had and it likely isn't nice enough for your car anyway.

the one on the far right of Jerry's pics are for the S4 and the extra tab is for the muffler hangers.
