Just noticed yesterday that my parking brake light was not illuminating when applying the parking brake.

The light in the pod does illuminate when turning on ignition before engine start but goes out once engine is started with park brake engaged.

I assumed switch and pull it out. Quite a bit of rust on the contact between the brown and yellow wire post and the body which goes to earth ground. Cleaned it up with a small file and deoxit and get continuity from wire post to switch frame mount point when in the brake engaged (switch released) position but still no light. No light when I manually ground out the brown and black wire to earth with car running.

Unfortunately my wiring diagram does not show the wire color from the switch to the central warning unit nor the pin number on the CWU.

I am assuming because I have a Park brake light during start sequence that the connection between the CWU and the lights is good. Just not sure whether its a wiring problem between switch and CWU or a fault in the CWU it self.

Anyone have a wiring diagram that validates wire color to and pin on the CWU?

Any thing I am missing or any assumptions wrong?

Pulled the dead pedal and found the brown and yellow wire on the CWU car side connector was not fully seated. Pushed it fully into the connector and light now works when park brake is engaged and out when it is released.
