Default Question about rear spacers

Hi,

Just found a pair of used rear wheel spacers ref: 477 501 701.
Can someone please infom me if these spacers will fit my 83S with original wheels without any modification, or do i need different bolts, or anything else.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards

Ricardo I believe that part number is for 944 models, you would have to remove your wheel studs and fit longer one's to accomodate the extra width. I fitted this type (below) a number of years ago, basically as they say "plug and play" , these just slip onto the original studs and tighten down with chamferred nuts and have the 5 bolts already bolted in situ to take your wheel.

Hi Ken,

Thanks for your answer and explanation!
I believe they also fit on the 928 because they appear on the PdF parts diagram of the 928 with the same reference number and as "Spacer Tube 21mm".
However those in the pic are a far better solution, really "plug and play"!
Those that you fit in your car what was the width also 21mm or more?
Do you remenber the part number or any reference?
I believe from what I read the best ones are from H&R is that correct?

Thanks again!

..., forgot to say , yes the one's you quote do fit the 928 but you will have to remove the existing wheel studs and fit longer one's, which can also entail some other problems re wheel bearings etc in order to fit the studs.
When I bought my spacers they were 25mm, they were ideal for standard width rear wheels, which I think would be ideal for your car. A few years ago I bought a set of Cup 1 wheels, and being 9 inch in the rears I had to get my spacers machined down to 17mm, which was ideal.
Sorry can't remember the make of the spacer's I got, but they were from a company in the UK called " Stuttgart Connection" and they are alluminium hub-centric, as long as you go for that description in whatever brand you choose you will be fine. I have not seen them advertising for some time now, so they might not be trading.
