Repaint Almost Done
It's been almost three weeks (four days promised) but it should be done monday. It is currently without most of its trim but it is looking great.

Erich,
The color is Porsche (Guards or India red depending upon year) red. I went back the same color the door sills, etc were painted to save cost.
Mike,
I had a quote on synthetic enamel (original) but they messed up and put a polyurothane base and clear coat on it. They charged me the same as the enamel though. Think they want to repaint the silber 928 (next in line)

Are you putting the side moldings on?
Do you have a better pictures of the wheels?
Did they do any body work? Could you share with us the overall cost of the paint job?

I'll be putting side molding between the wheel wells (like the 944's). Leaning toward black. I've attached a picture of the wheels. It really doesn't do the center cap justice. They charged me $633 to do the final sanding and spraying. I did all the trim removal, rust removal/prep (except for a place I found nder the rocker panel trim) and rough sanding. I did get them to give me the price on this AFTER I got the quote on the 928. Leverage?

What was the quality of the paint job - any errors/defects (like overspray, etc)? All of the pictures look really nice.

I had gotten another quote (different shop) to do everything for $2500. The paint was Sherwin Williams (both base and clear). Not sure about their automotive paint, but they are top of the line in other paints. I did have some overspray from the black trim but that came off with PrepAll. I've just finished up on installing new seals and rekeying the lock for the broken door handle. Next I have to get the primer overspray off one of the wheels. Appears one of their boots had a leak. After that, I replace the clutch slave cylinder and hope to take it to Hallet (SCCA and PCA races) racetrack tomorrow.
