Question Euro Front end

Hey,
Has anyone out there changed over the front end of their 924 to the european style with the fogs etc...i see gt-racing sells the bumper piece...what else would one need?

Does anyone have a few pics of these? Or whatever else you've done to the front end in terms of body work....

Thanks!
Erich

The same type of look can be achieved by buying a set of bumper shocks (or using the ones you have), drilling out all the fluid, and collapsing them with a hammer. Only problem is that it's easy to mess up the front end in a low speed collision.

I was going to buy the turbo look front bumper for my 944 but I opted to do a little customizing on my own. I took the bumper off, removed the shocks, put the bumper back on and pushed it in almost flush to the nose then secured it and molded it in. I actually like it better then the turbo nose. Not sure how different or difficult it would be to do on a 924, but a little creativity can go along way.

Not even close. The Euro front bumpers follow the lower line of the opening at the front of the car and flow with the lines of the car. The pushed in collapsed bumper look just looks like you hit something and your bumpers got f'ed up. The Euro bumper is the only way to go on the rear.

I have a set of actual OE Euro bumpers for my car and have dry fit them, but I still need to get around to having them painted. They require a different set of brackets to mount to the car. The brackets are fixed and somewhat shorter. I have the lights, but I'm not sure I am going to mess around with hooking them up right off, though everything is there in the harness already.

You have a beautiful car and it doesn't look like you hit anything to me.

Later, Mike.

Thanks Mike, a little fiberglass and tiger hair can do wonders if you know how to use it!

Kind of hard to say from the picture. Doesn't exactly do anything for me though.

I don't expect it to "do" anything for you, my point was it doesn't look like it was in an accident and pushed in...

Well, let me say then that the little gill slit next to the corner lights look goofy and the transition from the top of the bumper to the the header panel looks like crap in that picture. Maybe in a better picture or in person it looks good. Doesn't exactly do anything for me is a nice way of saying I don't personally think it looks all that good.

Yup, the picture quality is crap as it was taken with my cell phone camera.

You're entitled to your opinion which does not matter to me, to each his own... What does matter to me is - I like it!

I think it looks like you hit something too - a Rice-a-roni truck.

Here is what a proper Euro bumper look like on a 924. Notice how the edge of the bumper follows the edge of the body panels. The flow from bumper to body is very smooth:

Notice how a euro 924 looks like a nice smooth bullet with proper bumpers on both ends:
