My car has been sitting for a couple of months and when I got in to drive it, my windshield wipers came on even though they were off. I tried turning on and off but to no avail. It is like the wipers are stuck on the delay mode.

I drove down the street with them going but they stopped when I turned on my turn signal. However, when I use my turn signal the wipers come back on. I then need to mess with the turn signal (changing from left turn to right turn) until the wipers turn off.

Very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.

Try to tighten the left lower screw on the wiper switch which is under the steering wheel.

remove the steering wheel and the column assembly; sometimes if its packed on there too tight this can happen
