Writers Wanted
Hello fellow Porsche fans. I’m a magazine publisher and am in the early stages of developing a new magazine dedicated to the cars we love so much. This new periodical will be like none other. I’m currently looking for editorial contributors. I’d like to find capable authors with expertise in model category (i.e. a 993 expert, a 944 expert, etc.). Along with looking for contributors I do have some full-time in-house (southern California) editorial positions available. Qualified candidates must, first and foremost, be passionate about Porsche automobiles, exhibit strong grammar and writing skills, be easy to work with, as well as have strong grasp of things technical and mechanical. All published contributors will receive compensation.
As I mentioned earlier I am in the early stages of putting things together. If you are interested please email me at mikev@rc411.com
Please include name, geographical location (city, state), and lastly why you feel you would be qualified to write for a first class periodical. After receiving your email I will be in touch within two weeks.
Thank you for your time.

Yea sounds good, just about to good. And as we all know, If it sounds to good to be true, well, then it is. True publications don't advertize on a discussion board for "help wanted" Get real! and from reading the posts on here there is a large persentage of folks that are that only know where the repair shop is, and what Gunthers hourly rate is. I build my own, and I repair my own, NO SHOPS! Real men don't need no stinking shops! (LOL) I guess I'm from the old school, "If you can't fix your toys, you shouldn't play with toys."
Yea, I'm venting here, sorry. It's just that I see so many stupid postings, it just makes my skin crawl. <img src="graemlins/soapbox.gif" border="0" alt="[soapbox]" />

Bad day in Texas? I'll take that as a "not interested." I do represent a real publishing company, with real magazines, that are sold on real newsstands. I do appreciate all of the responses we've had so far. Thanks.

Well, would you please kindly tell us who they are? You do have to admit it looks like a "shady" offer, rather blind, and not very informative. I don't mean to be brash, its just in this day an age, with all the "scams" out there, one can't be to careful. After all, if your going to bark with the big boys, you better have the growl behind it also.
I hope you find what your looking for, pickings may be slim, and after all your dealing with a car that is no longer in production. ie: 924, 944, 951, and so on. Even some dealers don't want to see these things come in, there getting to aged to make any money on. So if you don't own one and have worked on it yourself, well, lets just say Wrench spinners make for lousy copy.
Good luck, and have a Happy Holiday.
(LOL) I hope we passed the audition!

I believe if I were to post my web address I would be in violation of the rules on advertising. However, if you click on my profile you will find a link to one of our publication's websites. There's no scam, and thanks once again to all those that have responded.

I think it says you can advertise no more than 2 times a month ... not sure but I know its no big deal.

your magazines looks interesting. Are they available in europe??
I wish you find good writers (especially 944 ones)
and we can have a good magazine.I hope this new magazine will be available in europe also or at least it will be easy to subscribe from outside US.
