Default jack stands in back

ok, i need to put the rear on jack stands for a day or two, where is the best spot to put them underneath? I've looked around and have yet to find a nice spot that wont do any damage.

thanks

If you look in your owners manual it specifies that there are 3 marked locations along each side of the car. One is right behind the front wheel, one right in front of the rear wheel and the other in right in the middle. I'm having second thoughts here, i think there are three right? I haven't seen my car in months now.

So i would suggest jacking the car up with the middle point and put the stands on the rear mount.

Hope that makes sense!

from what i saw there was only 1 jack point on each side, i could be very very very wrong there. however the jack stand placement is what has me concerned. I was looking at the rear mount, but wasn't 100% sure that was a good spot or not. I might take a picture tomarrow if i can get to it and hopefully be 100% certain of the correct placement of it.

thanks for the info

Well i THINK on my 924S there are three, again i haven't jacked up my car since Thanksgiving when i last drove it. But as i recall there is: One round one right behind the front wheel, and then two square shaped ones in the middle and then right in front of the rear tire. They are right behind the lower lip of the body. . .If you don't have your owners manual snap a picture and we'll see.

Good Luck!

ok, ignore the mess in the pic, this is a project car and has been sitting for a while. i looked again and there is only 1 place to put the jack on the sides, it's a 77 so that might be why. anyway here is a pic of where i believe you are talking about but let me know if that is the place you were refering to or not.

thanks

I can't tell much from the picture. Can you take on the side of the car just behind the side rocker panel? That's where these things should be. . .

That picture is of a 944 Turbo. But there are many similarities in the undercarriage with the 924. If you have any other questions post away my friend. . .

i believe i have found them. not quite what it looked like in that picture but it was close enough to get me to em. the reason i wasn't seeing them before was they had nasty little critters nesting in them covering up the spots to lift. i might take a picture later to be 110% sure, i dont wanna go through the floor. anyway thanks again

I didn't realize the jack points behind the front wheels are not supposed to used for jackstands but the manual tells you to use these. Has there been problems with those front sockets. I've been using a modified hockey puck for those front locations for all my repairs. Where did the inboard safe point info come from?
Thanks

2Tight: I took that info from a thread in the main forum. Here is the link:

https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...s&pagenumber=2

I use the round jack points as well, because that's what the owners manual says. I have had no trouble using them, instead of a hockey puck(good idea!!) i use a piece of wood that i cut to fit. Personally i'm going to keep using the round points...but that's just me!
