Default My New Car!!! You may have seen it before.

I'm heading out Saturday to pick up what was my fathers 2001 Supercharged PT Cruiser. I know many of you frown on the PT... perhaps this will change your mind. 240hp, 233tq, rides like a gokart and actually looks pretty good!!!

Not bad for a winter "beater"!

U buyin' as your daily driver or just transporting it to another happy home?

I think once ya lower 'em a bit and add the 18 or 19 inch wheels, they starting looking like the "ride" they were originally designed to be. Chrysler designer up in Detriot got one of the first ones a few years back and dropped it a couple if inches and added 18's and I still have that image in my head.

If ya keep it I wanna see it in person at the next SW Ohio GTG.

Yup... my new DD for a few years. The Buick is barely making the commute.... 1 gallon of water on the way to work, 1 gallon on the way home, tranny is stuck in drive, ball joint is about to explode, one axle is worn terribly, brakes warped, it's been a hell of a good car for $500!! Almost 30,000 miles I put on it.

This will be a touch more fun, and definately better for the chick factor!

I got it for a steal... we had it on the market 1 month before the PT Turbo came out.... everyone that liked the car said they would rather spend the $$ on a new Turbo.

Ahh well.. worked out for all parties involved. I got a hell of a nice car for an excellent price, my father is happy it will stay in the family, and happy it's out of the way. (so he can devote time to his 911 project)

You can only come to our little "gathering" in January if you take that crap off the rear quarter window...:-)

JK, nice DD!

HEY HEY HEY now.... little background info. My brother is Chief Mechanic for the NHRA Fram Top Fuel Dragster (Rhonda Hartman-Smith). It's our little way to display the Nitro Fish (universal NHRA sign) along with the Fram Hand.

They may be relocated... but they will be on there.

Just like we go through a pair in the rear when the fronts are only halfway worn, you should be able to do the exact opposite in the PT I'm assuming a manual isn't an option? Have fun.

Sounds like a good deal. You'll be amazed by how much stuff you can cram into that thing. I drove the wife's PT a lot and it was a pretty comfortable car for a daily. The only gripe I had was that you really have to reach for the ashtray. If it hasn't had any suspension mods, lowering it and installing bigger sways make a big difference.
I see that you have heated seats, too. Great for the winter.

Decent!!!

Sorry Dan I stole your thunder!

Apparently you're out for any weekend wrenching. I've always thought the PT's looked cool if u lowered them and stuck some nice rims on there....both of which appear to be done to this one.

Congrats...sniff...sniff. I'll miss the little yellow puddles in my driveway on the weekends.

LOL! I'll be sure to bring 951 over to soil your driveway.

Sorry, no wrenching this weekend for me. Pull the fuse panel and we'll get after it Tuesday night. Andy, wanna help?

to the turbo charged dodge minivans(old caravan SE), blown PT cruisers and Turbo Miatas for daily "sleepers". i'd so drive that thing..... probably really comfy and roomy inside. I have to reinvent yoga to fit in my Miata must be nice Slick looking car, i'd be proud if my dad drove that
Interior is typical chrysler but car handles quite well, my friend autox's his PT Turbo with great results nice ride man!
