951 Pre-production vehicles ?
Hello all,
I'm trying to search some information for pre-production models with 951.
What kind of + % valuation feat average 951 it should bring if i can get into one of these ? I'm searching original shape under 200 000 km driven versions.
I have tried to search from Sweden, England, Germany, and now i joined here if i might get some good tips and information.
I might have the possibility to buy 951 and the VIN's model number is under the 10 first cars in the world.
I'm happy for all the information you can provide.

The only value that would bring, IMO would be as a conversation piece.
Otherwise it's just another 944T...
THough when you say first 10 you mean the first 10 sold to public, or the first 10 built? Porsche tends to keep the first few examples for themselves for testing (IIRC they reserve the first 60 VIN numbers).

I have heard that it goes somewhere between 25-35k if the condition is still good.
Not so many topics out from these first versions. There would be one built around 84-85 and Factory sold it forward on 87.
I can provide you the VIN code if you can decode it for me. I have tried to check it trough, but some number does not seem to match.
I do mean first 10 to build.

If it's really that early and in very good shape, you might even try to contact Porsche about buying it back for their museum collection.

I don't know anything about decoding VINS....
you might have luck trying the dealer or your local Porsche corporate office.

one thing...the ZZZ doesn't mean anything in the US, i am assuming you are in Europe or elsewhere?

Lots of good info here - https://rennlist.com/forums/944-turb...944-turbo.html
As Spencer said, Porsche reserves the first few numbers for testing, so if that's the vin you have, you have a 86 used for testing. As far as one of the first 10 944 turbos, no. There were a small number of 85 turbos sold in Europe, and Porsche ran 944 turbo prototypes in racing back in 1983, 84, 85.
