Does anyone know if there are different types (as in thickness) of sunroof seals?
I bought one last winter, and had a hell of a time getting the sunroof closed.
I figured it would compress over time, but it did not, and the sunroof will not close under it's own power.
Anyone else have this problem? have a better supplier?
Thanks in advance,

I had a similar problem with a new seal. I wound up going back with the old seal but during the process I put a straight edge across the 4 sides of the opening and found the opening over the drivers door to be slightly curved inward. Not sure if this was as manufactured or due to some sort of collision. It was very slight, maybe 1/8" but certainly enough to keep the new seal from working.
As far as I know, there is only one thickness. You could talk to Jason at Paragon-Products for his experience.

Make sure you use a Porsche part, not one made by URO or some other independent aftermarket crap. The world is full of cheap, ill fitting copies which are only intended to make you frustrated and empty your pockets at the same time.
Series one cars are different from the series two cars in application of those seals, and if one is dealing with an early '85.2 build model, make sure you have your vin number to give to the parts counter guys. There are MANY differences, tho subtle, between the two different series. The break between the '85.1 and '85.2 is known to be fraught with interesting features and even more so now after 3 decades of owners doing their own 'thing' on replacing pcs.
