Some weird things with f9tech pump prime relay...
Just an FYI/heads up in case it could ever be an issue for someone. I had a f9tech solid state DME relay with pump prime laying around waiting on getting the 87 running. When I bought the 951, I threw it in there.
As far as starting goes, I don't notice any difference if I let it prime. Strangely however if I quickly turn the key, only giving it a 1/2 second or so of priming it does seem to start faster than without the relay. Weird, but there it is. But that's not what I wanted to mention.
When I had my dash out redoing the lights I noticed something REALLY strange. I found this out while testing to see if the new LEDS were in right. Putting on the brights causes the fuel pump to prime!!!!! I think turning on the turn signals did too!!!! I mention it just in case you have one of these. No biggie normally, but if you for some reason had the fuel system apart it's good to know it'll pump fuel unexpectedly if you play with the multifunction control...
Now, however, why in the world would the brights cause this????? I can't come up with a reason, but there you have it. Test it out yourself if you have one! Happens to me any time the key is in run, but the cars not started, and after the initial prime.
Weird.

Hmm, interesting. I suppose there are conditions defined in the circuit to prime the pump and the voltage drop from hitting the brights is enough to satisfy them. The trouble IMO would be if there could be pinched and shorted wiring after a crash that might also cause priming.

Sounds like it may be in the same realm as this:

I have one installed in my 924S track car and noticed that anytime you do something which changes the voltage draw on the battery with the engine not running, it will trigger the relay to prime the pump. I chalked it up to the way the relay was designed and nothing is actually wrong. I did notice the quick start yesterday when i just turned the key to start without waiting for the pump to prime.

IMO you are better off without the pump prime. Cranking for a couple seconds is good for oil circulation and you do not need a circuit that might decide to run the fuel pump mysteriously.
If you have a leak or a stuck injector or the like then priming is bad news also.
