I nominate Jason's 924S for the 924S model..

The NICEST example I have seen to date.

I think we shouldn't give up on a printed version just yet. It would be soo much nicer and proffessional, and more presentative if we did it. I'll look around to see if anywhere around here can do it.
Whats wrong with you guys, why do you all have to keep such nice cars, thats going to make it really hard on us to decide, none should be left out!

Okay, I won't give up on the printed version. I've called everyone in Mandeville (all three) but will try New Orleans later this week.

Eyal and S2, try some of the printer's around you.

yup, thats the plan, I just sent you a loooong PM, and you mailbox is full, it deleted alll I wrote, Im so pissed. Anyways, I'll right you an email later, whats the address (you can PM it to me) the main points basically were, we should start two posts. One asking for printers, or people that know em on the list that could do this for us. Cross post that in this forum and OT. then make a thread asking everyone to go out and take the biggest, highest res pictures of there cars, no license plates, etc etc... And email it to either of us. (and anyone else working on this) BTW, My Email is Eyal@aero.und.edu if any of you want to get some photos in for consideration. thanks!

It's pretty dismal here in Chicagoland, but I do have a 4 Megapixel
Semi-Pro digital camera and I'm sure I can borrow my Moms Pro-digital
camrea if need be.

So if anyone is in the area, and has access to a nice Porsche and knows
of a nice backdrop, I'd be happy to meet them to take the photos and
submit them. I have enough memory space for over 300 photos in one
sitting.

As for kinko's wanting regular photos over digital, that's only because they
have so much trouble with people submitting 72dpi "web optomised"
photos and they'd want to scan the originals to get the right setup.

If someone knows what they are doing, the whole thing can be done
digitally.

Wow! Some of you guys have some GREAT photos. I LOVE that red
Porsche *slid* into the background (literally from the looks of it).

If you guys are serious about this, you're going to have to hustle. And
remember you're going to need some HIGH RES photos. NOT ones you
pulled off the web.

Well... after all the talk of calendars, I made one up. It isn't the best thing in the world but I like it. I used a piece of software called Calendar Pro, but obviously this is not the best solution, I just wanted to through some ideas out there. You can download Calendar Pro from here.
Here is the zip file for the calendar. It is about 2.44MB.

All comments will be appreciated.

Two problems with a quality printed version: the smaller the run the higher the per copy price. Anything under 1,000 will be too expensive, possibly as high as $100 per or more. Most of the cost is in the set-up, not the actual run.

There are lower run duplication methods, but they will all be expensive or of so so quality. My sister gets calenders of her kids made, and they don't look great.

Second problem is that imo there is not enough time to get it organized for 2004. Try for 2005, but start in the summer. The time to sell them is now. You'd have to take advance orders and get the cash up front, or risk taking a bath.

we were planning on asking for advance orders, and we can easily do it for less then 100 per issue, kinkos wanted 30. if its done this year, we'll try our hardest to make it as good as possible, but next year's (2005) we will have a lot more time, we'll have a photo contest and it will be much better. But i think its definetly worth a shot this year, we're working on finding a good place to print for us right now. (if anyone knows anything, please, do tell)

I'd love to hang a 944 calander in my office. I'll ask around here who does our printing (radio stations always have stuff made up like this).

I'll post monday if I get some good info.

Side note, for the photos, I think an official poll/ballot should be done.

Perry, that would be a great help if we can find a good printing place! Your car is definetly in. (if thats ok with you of course) We wanted to do a poll/ballot, but we just simply dont have the time if we want this thing out for 2004. I think just everyone that wants their car considered, send emails to EELLSSUU and I (and whoever else will be involved, if anyone is), and We'll decide, and ask you guys for imput too.

This won't happen tomorrow, so why not take the time now to set up a poll? Even if we only have a week to get response, it's better than nothing.

I'll post one in a few.

fine with me, I'll talk to EELLSSUU, but it wont be for everysingle car in it, thats gonna be to much, but it should be good to get feedback on which cars you guys want in there.
