Justin, great choice of photos!!
I'll help in any way I can. If someone local needs photos taken, or
if people have film or photographs they need scanned, I have all the
hardware to take care of that.
Maybe I'll even take a few of my sorry assed 924S and see if I can hide
how bad the wheels and paint is! LOL
I'd like to help is some way if I can.

Hey guys, if no one is spearheading the project visually, I can help out by taking the submitted photos and editing them into a nice custom layout with all the bells and whistles of a professional calender. Either way, we will need to make it a pdf to take to the publishers no matter what we decide. If you want me to go ahead, let me know and I start on getting photos together from Rennlist.

I think the idea is great – as I said in my first post. But the execution leaves something to be desired. Guys, I’m sure we would ALL like to see our cars on a calendar – myself included. But if you want to make a quality calendar, the you’ve got to drop the popularity contest. It’s not about “who’s who” on Rennlist, it’s about putting together a calendar of exceptional photos of 924/944/968 cars. Of all the shots that have been posted so far, only one (at least that I can recall) is calendar quality. Most of the shots have **** poor lighting, power wires in the background, low image quality, etc. If you want this to be a success, then you’re going to have to get serious about the pictures.
I spent 15 years as a professional photographer and two years as editor of the Porschenaut (Lone Star Region PCA newsletter). I’m only mentioning this to qualify my comments. I’d really like to see this take off and I’m willing to help with the execution. I have a connection in publishing and can work out the details – but if it’s going to be a popularity contest then I’ll pass.
On another front, if this is to proceed, then we need to have a separate post for photos. You can’t discuss this and “wade” through the pics at the same time.

Well, your perfectly right, but the idea came up late for this year, and if we want something to happen this year, we'll have to live with these. We dont have time for everyone to start going out and taking pictures and such (unless its within about a week) and then we'll just end up with a bunch of winter pics. August photowith bare tress in the background isn't that great either. I think we should just give it our best shot for the 2004, and then we'll go all out bext year when we can give MUCH longer deadlines to give people the chance to take great photos. So right now its pretty much something, though not the best, or nothing at all. Your choice guys.
