You could always buy a $100 ticket to win my car...(shameless Plug). Then go spend a few grand and buy a winter beater and still have a few grand left over.

I would recommend an 85.5 or later 944 with the new interior if you like to ride in comfort on a 95 degree 100% humidity day. I owned an 83 944 and even though the air was cold the vents were inadequate. I had an 86 and 88 and they did much better in the way of comfort. Some may not care about the air but on a long trip in the south it can be very nice.
