You still need a short rack with EPAS, that's actually what I run on my fast car ,but the rack is custom.

I would absolutely be interested in a close ratio box for around $200 if we can get enough people together.

I am interested in it, but I think we should double check with Quaife that it would work with the 944 power steering rack.
From what I read online, this setup mostly works with manual rack only.

This might be an option as well... I had the Martin Willis Machine Shop convert my power steering rack from my 1985.5 race car to a full race short ratio manual rack... He makes a do it yourself kit as well.

IIRC those 911s didn't have power steering. Quaife is likely talking about making the rack and pinion for a manual steering assembly. I think the pinion gear in a PS assembly will cost way more than $200 to make. Best to ask them and make sure first!

I'd be in for up to about $500. I have a "de-powered" rack now and haven't seen a stock manual over the past 2 years. They seem like hen's teeth.

Ooops. Belay that. I thought you were talking about reproducing the manual rack, see now you're building a close ratio power rack.

Thingo,
I googled Sellholm Tuning and all I could find was a company in Sweeden. Did you send your rack to Sweeden or is there a company in Australia?? I live in Brisbane and am more than happy to pay for a "one off".
Thanks in advance.

Aside from my response/query to Thingo, I would be interested in the proposal for manufacturing, but I need it for a manual RHD rack. I would probably take two of them.

Yes that's the company, send them an email. Yes I had to send a rack. It took a while. At that time they could do lhd or rhd.

Any recent feedback on these quicker racks? Are they reliable?

The rack Thingo refers to made by Sellholm here in Sweden can still be bought but Peter Sanden of Sanden bilteknik whom is the father of these racks and also is the one who assembles them needs a few orders to make Sellholm produce them.

I have one in my 968 Turbo S/RS replica and it totally transforms the car. I believe it is 2,1 turns lock to lock.

Peder,

You having the rack in your car is a vote of confidence for the product. How much did you pay for it? Since you’re in Sweden and if you wouldn’t mind working with Sanden to organize a production run, I can try to organize buyers here in the US.

Please find out the minimum number of units he’d produce and the price.

Let me know. Thank you.

Hi.
I talked to Sanden but he is retiring so wasnt interested anymore. He said that a direct contact with Sellholm might work. He belives they could be interested but if they are they need cores.

When I got mine a few years back it was 10000 SEK inkluding the custom pressure line which is a must.
