of guage lights and night vision
does anyone else here keep their already somewhat dim guage lights at the lowest setting? i do, as i like to keep my night vision. i also wear night driving glasses (not DARK, but protects my rhodopsin from oncoming headlights) at night, and i never have trouble seeing the guages at the lowest light setting, and/or seeing very well in the dark outside the vehicle.
just checking if anyone has gone this route instead of upgrading (more than cleaning the lights and replaceing the stock foil in their late cars) their lights and has also had good experience.

I have mine set on the brightest possible. I can't see a damn thing if they aren't set that high. I'm hoping Perry is still going to do the LED upgrade for the early cars. Never heard of "night driving glasses" before, so can't say anything about that.
Antonio, a troll is someone like Campeck who just posts pointless **** and loses all respect/ credibility. This comes back to bite you in the *** if you ever need help.

the ones i have are yellow lenses and cut down on the white light input to my eyes which destroys rhodopsin - visual purple(the night vision chemical in the eyes) it takes about 30-45 minutes to build up. i took out the bulbs in my early guages, cleaned them, and reinstalled. i can see the guages (just barely at first, then much better as my night vision comes into play) at night at the lowest setting, i can't stand them all the way up.

your such a pilot... I drive with it at just about all the way up, which isnt much at all, and preserves my vision, Im not interested in upgrading it, it would be TOO bright. I geuss it's a pilot thing.

yeah it seemed like just enough adjusted all the way up... that was a couple years ago. now, i can't stand it all the way up, feels like i'm at a movie theatre with somebody shining a flashlight in my eyes while i'm watching the screen...

Got the Perry 951 LED upgrade in the 88 TurboS and they are GREAT - bright, but not sharp / harsh like some of the new cars (iw Mercedes S Class). Stock lights with foil in the 85.5 944 NA (bright, but nowhere as good as the TS) and stock lights in the 968 Cab - which are going to be changed to Perry 951 LED's if I can still get them!
