Not getting a spark? ...help
I have an 92 968 and I am not getting a spark. the car was fine the night before, then suddenly last night it would not fire up. lots of cranking but no fire.
I had installed an MSD last spring and though maybe it had gone bad, so I took it out and rewired it the stock way ( i hope? green Is positive on the coil isn't it?) Still getting nothing. I have checked fuses as well as the ones coming off of the battery itself. there was one coming off the battery that was a 5 amp that was blown, but that may be stereo related. I replaced that and checked the 30 amp one in the little cover attatched to the wire coming off of the batterty. it was fine. I have a good conection to the battery, the battery is stong and cranks away. The distributor, cap wires and rotor are all relatively new( one year old).
Help!
I have a multimeter. is there anything else I can do?

Yeah, it might be your DME relay. Its a common failure on these cars. I would check for spark. Chances are you are not getting it. Its always a good idea to carry an extra DME relay in 968s.
Its not expensive and worth the peace of mind. See if you can wiggle it and that fixes your problem.
As far as wiring the coil, you can only make them fit one way as the holes on the 2 poles are different size, so chances are you got it right.

89magic98,
Thats the best "straight forward" diagram I've ever seen in relation to the no-start problem. I wish I had seen this last month! Needless to say, today I have ordered a new (used) DME. I have replaced everything in that diagram except the DME!!!!
