Default fuel pump cover

PO removed the fuel filter and the fuel pump, with the corresponding cover. Looking at the two piece cover, I am not seeing how it attaches back to the car. I see where it fits flush against the tank, as evidenced by the round flat spot on the tank and the cover, but other than one tiny bolt hole that doesn't appear to attach to anything, I am at a complete loss as to how to get the cover back on once my fuel pump comes in from ordering. Does the clamp on the cover hold everything up?

There is a clamp that holds the fuel pump to the large cover. You take off the small cover and disconnect the fuel pump from the tank clamping or plugging the line from the tank.

The fuel pump has to have the rubber cover/sleeve over it.

Got that, as I still have to get the rubber sleeve from the PO. It sounds like, in your scenario, that you are doing nothing with the large cover, leaving it on the car? My large and small cover are now lying on the floor of the garage. How do I get them to stay on the car whend I get the fuel pump strapped into the large cover? Or am I just not seeing the forest for the trees?

After further eyeballing, it looks like there is a strap that runs across the bottom of the cover, that I am missing. PO did not include in the Box-o-parts I got with the car. Have to get back up with him again. In the mean time, anyone have a source for the strap, if the PO is not able to locate it?
