Question on the hydraulic circuit (brakes and clutch)
I believe the clutch and the brakes both run from the same hydraulic circuit in our 944. After all, there is only one fluid reservoir. The brake circuit also splits (using the proportioning valve) into the front and the rear.
Does a leak or a cut in any of these three circuits cause a failure of the other two?
Thanks, Stan

No. The clutch has the resevior in common with the brakes. If it is compromised, the brakes are ok. You will leak fluid though. If you look into the resevior, you'll see it is divided internally so if the clutch hose fails, it won't blow all of the fluid from the brakes. If a brake line is cut, that is a very different matter, you will lose the brakes.

OK,
So the three hydraulic circuits meet in the reservoir?
Following what you said, will cutting the lines to the front brakes disable the rear circuit too?
P.s. Where is the front/rear brake proportioning valve located (I mean the logical location in the hydraulic circuit), and how does it work?
