Default Is there a quick way to check if an oil pressure gauge is functional?

On the 83 I just revived the oil light goes out but the gauge is kaput. Is there a quick way to see if the thing might be working and my problem lies elsewhere?

I read the method on Clarks Garage but was hoping for something I could do directly at the gauge.

Thanks
Chris

the gauge is really easy to pull out of the console...you could get some test wires (alligator clips) and hook the gauge directly to the oil sender terminals alongside the engine along with a +12v and ground connection (battery?).

You can also install a resistor(s) in between the pressure reading terminal of the harness and engine ground, at a value that would read somewhere between 1-4 bar to check the gauge.
