Default cabriolet tops, manual or automatic

The first thing I did when I got my new (to me) 944 S2 Cabriolet home was to look and see if the automatic top could be disconnected. It could, I did, and when I opened it I found it was easy and only took a few seconds.

So I was wondering how many cabriolet owners modified their tops to be manual like me, and how many still use the automatic mode.

My worst cabriolet experience was with my BMW 325ic. It was a nightmare from the day I got the car, and still is today. And making it "manual" is pretty difficult for a variety of reasons. As a BMW tech once told me; there are about twelve different microswitches that have to work in perfect synchronicity to make it work

Mine's Automatic,
It was manual when I got it and yes it only takes a few seconds to open/close but it's not the same as pushing a switch,
It's a rewarding experience to align it all up, al the info is here http://www.968forums.com/Miscfileupload/968CabTop.pdf

You're right. When my BMW was working it was cool to push the button and watch it work. The problem was that it always malfunctioned when I was on a date or running late. I do have to say though that the BMW hand release to disengage it from the pillar is light years ahead of the one in my 944
