Wondering what you guys would think about this. I kind of like the idea. Once I get everything on my car working the RIGHT way...it needs a repaint, cause the PO only did a cheap spray-over and you can still see the original color. While I like the color of my car now, I was wondering what you guys would think of a black/red irradecent paint? Looks black, then it moves and you can see the dark red in it (the color it is now)...I think it would be different and would also fit the nickname....do you think it would be rice or nice? The only cars I have seen it on is a blue/gree/purple mix on a local mustang and the blue/green mix on the TVR's....

not really rice, but not my taste either. have you considered going to a dark burgundy metallic paint? the metallic paints tend to take on different color characteristics with different light angles hitting them, accentuating the fenders and curves. this could be done right much cheaper than said irridescent paint, and still look very good.

I had a '95 Nissan 240sx that had factory paint that looked blue, purple, or green depending on the sunlight. It was called Emerald Blue, which I believe is a flavor of Uncle Ben's.

Damn why is everything rice, the deep purple/black color has been around since the 60's, would you call that rice? It doesn't sound like he's trying to do the chameleon green/purple/brown **** stain paint, I like the idea I think it would look great on a 944.

In my opinion, anything that ruins the good, clean design and what the car was meant to look like, is rice. Whether it be a wing made out of popsicle sticks or some weird color choice.
Just my opinion, though, so you all can just calm down. It could look great. And it really doesn't matter, as long as you like it.

Ford color is called Mystic, the absolute perfect color for a Cobra you could use 1995MY Mystic paint for that color. IMHO, I dont like the blue on the Altima/240 or the Firebird green blue.

I personaly love the metalic dolomite grey paint on my 78 924 (clearcoated special option) the only other color I would consider is a metallic light green (don't know the full name) but I saw some fantastic shots of a 924 painted that color.
