Default 944 adventure

I just purchased a "84 944 . It has recent receipts for: new timing belts, rollers, tensioners, new head, all new seals, new waterpump, new radiator, new clutch kit, new sway bar bushings, new exhaust, too numerous to mention here....It runs like a dream and shifts like silk.. Needs paint and interior work but oh my God does it run strong and quiet.

Now has anyone ever removed window tint???? It is in bad shape and I know it is going to be a nightmare to take off.

I am now looking for black interior (everything)..

Other question is sunroof is missing something.. it has the motors in it but nothing is connecting to the roof (something missing?)...I can push open the roof on the back but it is latched in the front. There are no latched on the back and the motors don't make any noise at all (connection?)....

For the window tint , pick up some goo gone... works great for getting the excess sticky stuff off after you pull off the tint.

For the sunroof do a search in the archives. More than likely the motors or lifting gears are shot, which means that the arms that are supposed to attach won't make an appearance.

You can operate the sunroof manually.

Pull back the carpet on drivers side in rear hatch area like you want to get to side marker light.

You should see an electric motor and assembly.

Look in the center of the gear assembly

There is a slot in this shaft. Get a flat blade screwdriver and turn the motor by hand.

Clockwise should "raise/open" the roof panel. Counter clockwise should "lower/lock/release" the roof panel.

If you want, do this with the panel out and you should see the "lifting arms" move and come out of the header panel.

You can also convert it to a complete "manual" roof with 4 latches. Do a search on "manual sunroof conversion" you ned to buy 2 more latches to convert it over.

Hope this helps.

I want a pure black interior too. Black leather/carpet > *

Oh and for the Goo Gone, be DAME sure you dont get it anyplace else and let it sit for more than a second. That stuff is VICIOUS, IIRC itll melt plastic.

Works good for anything tho.

be careful with the roof!! Mine was just latched in the front and it flew off, had to buy a new roof.

Make sure to tape up / protect the inside window ledge right before it meets the glass - any solvents will remove the black dye of the interior panel.
