Default DME inj drivers... myth or not?

Is it okay to replace injectors, for instance install 951 or S2 or S or early or late 8v injectors using the same DME?

I have heard it was bad to used early with late dme or visa versa because "hard on injector drivers"...

Any truth to this?

You can use any year 8v-NA injectors with any 8v-NA computer.
There is no resistance difference (outside of the normal "spec" for low-z injectors that they are, 2.4-2.8 ohm). Mix and match to your heart's content.

951 injectors are 4.5-5.5 ohms which is unlike any other fuel injector in the known universe...why? No idea. But they are ~50% bigger in flow than the NA injector so they won't just "work" on an NA without being dialed in.

IIRC S/S2 injectors are high-impedance. They are closer in size to the NA injectors but still a little big. I don't know how they would behave with the current from the low-z driver feeding the high-z coil.

If you want to change to a different injector I wouldn't bother with an old Porsche part.
There are so many other, better, newer fuel injector designs from the 1990s and onwards in any flow rate/impedance you could wish for.
