big reds / heat shield

Hello all, Those of you with big reds on your 44's what did you do about the heat shield? Looks like it protects the b-joints,tie rod end, and some wiring from break heat/ friction. Is there one that fits around the rotor for our cars, do we really need it?...

I would like this info as well as I have bid reds and hate getting my charlie arms dirty.

968TS, did you just remove the shield? I "trimed" mine back but this is NOT working out so well.
