Default Anyone want to play, what's that smell?

I have a weird smell I can not figure out quite yet. It's kind of like a burning smell but not exactly.

Last night is the first time I remember smelling it. My blower motor has been somewhat possessed lately and it did shut off out of nowhere.

Today I started my car up and could smell it slightly after a few minutes if the blower was in the off position. Same thing with driving, if it's in the off position, I smell it. If it's even on the lightest setting I smell nothing(and it's a strong enough smell when it happens that I would think the lightest setting of the blower would not completely hide it).

When I went back 15 minutes later after turning off the car, and just smelled all around my car, it was strongest in the vent at the rear of the door on the drivers side that leads through behind the rear quarter panel to the rear hatch.

I'm fairly sure it's not oil on the exhaust or anything else under the hood as far as I can tell.

Could it be the blower motor resistor heating up and then going through the vents? Any other ideas? I'm baffled.

There is no connection from the blower fan to those vents in the door/quarter panel...
I'm guessing you've got leaves or dead squirrel in your car somewhere.

^^^ "slow roasting"

OP, it's not an electrical component overheating/burning smell is it? Do you know what I'm referring to?

This is definitely a situation when I am glad our computers don't make a smell. Could it be a hose melting?
