I can print in nylon which is pretty stiff. It would be white instead of clear but that should not matter.
I would need a 3d scanner to make a file from a good plate and I have not picked up a 3d scanner at this point. OTOH, I have a good CAD program. I might be able to design one on that.

It's been a while since I made/sold these, but the demand has crept up again so I'm thinking of making more.
Did anyone have any feedback the ones I made previously?

I was one of the original prototype testers (see post #46 and on above). Mine is still on the car and hasn’t cracked from many miles of use, so the quality of the last batch you made was good.
It required some minor trimming with a file to fit precisely and it was more opaque and hazy than the factory one therefore letting out slightly less light, but imo it does the job and is a vast improvement on the cracked and broken item I took out.
Until the factory classic parts department decides to start making them again your version is a viable substitute.
Thanks for making them

I spoke with Cal today who made the original group of plates. He says that he will not have time until the fall/winter to look at any production. I have been watching eBay for a really good plate with the idea of carefully removing and taking to a 3 D printer here in California. Decent HVAC units for sale for parts with a decent clear plate run from $120 to $160. If there are still enough folks interested in a new clear plate, I will buy an HVAC unit, have copies made and divide the cost for everything amongst those who purchase based on the total number of units ordered. Please post up if you want one or more. Thanks, Al
