Me too, it never fails

Making progress. Dimensions are very close now.

It'll never be crystal clear, but it does transmit light through it.

It's a bit stronger and less brittle than the original part.

I did some destructive testing on it, which is why it's missing some clips.

Do you have an idea of what you want to charge? Need to get a list going?

Not sure yet on pricing, some details to work out. It'll be reasonable.

The fan speed dial, slider graphic, and temp dial are stuck on the OE part, so it looks like I'll need to have stickers made up too.

Luckily I don't need a list - I can create these to match demand.

I hope to have these available in a couple weeks.

Will you be releasing the stl file? You could charge for that too. It looks like you put some significant time into this development?

Count me in for 3-5 depending on pricing. A group buy would probably be the easiest way to do this.

Was this a working head unit? It looks like all of your capacitors have leaked (the white goop). These too should be easy enough to to replace and clean up. Watch to polarity

This is the comment I was looking for.

Yeah, it was working before I took it apart, so I suppose now would be a good time to replace those capacitors.

One more winter project.

Any chance this goop is just adhesive? I looked for pictures online of leaking capacitors, and this looks different. It feels rubbery.

Making progress.

It's not capacitor leakage, it is in fact anti-vibration goop.

It is used to keep parts from vibrating and the leads breaking.

Stalled a bit since the last update. I was splitting my time between the HVAC plate and another project which just finished.... so work on the HVAC plate will now continue. It's close.

Making progress. Everything snaps and fits together properly.

This is a raw print - Everything fit without any use of a knife. Some 'blobs' are visible on the snap clips.

Should light up just fine. I'm using a flashlight awkwardly here, but the HVAC bulbs are more strategically placed.

Tomorrow I'll make sure it installs into the dash.

Next week I'll try to make/source stickers for the dials.

This really great!

Do you think that extra material could/should be added in the areas that the panel commonly cracks (usually around the switches at the opposite ends)?
