Cambelt tension on S2
Hi new member old thread
My question wich probably has a simple anwer is.When tensioning the cambelt with the spring tensioner installed the work shop manual states the deletion of the tool P9201 but it seems you guys recommend the guage on all models bar the 968 wich has the hydraulicself adjusting tensioner.Question is how do you have enough space to place the guage on the belt and adjust the tension?.It seems there is very little space to fight the tension of the spring and get the right calibration on the guage. Also have any of you guys encountered a leaking rear main seal after the total re-seal of the front end.I did a new clutch unit +fitting £900.00 just for the sake of a £15.00 seal probably the most expensive Ill ever buy.I Guess the pressure build up from the new seals blew out the old rear main. You live and learn.
