WTFind: 944 2.5L NA Engine Tuner in NE
I am located in Albany, NY. I am looking for a reputable Porsche 944 Engine Tuner to remap a Bosch 058 dme. The engine is an '88 with high compression pistons and a Brusch exhaust header is installed. The current dme with Wilk chip is from a '83 Porsche 944. I have available a Bosch 058 dme and corresponding AFM.
I am interested in doing the remap of the Bosch 058 DME with the existing engine prior to installing a new built engine with Stahl exhaust header. I want to determine an changes in HP and torque output.
Thanks

You could try Miller Performance in Canada, The have whats called a W.A.R. chip they can tune remotely with laptop. They are mostly a BMW tuner, but might be able to help you out. I bought a maf kit from them, they had a kit, but not enough interest and then they deceived to make some more because they got requests.

Talk to Josh at rogue tuning, he's not local but his experience with tuning the 944 makes up for it. Especially with a relatively stock NA. He's the guy behind NA-tune kits.

Step 1) buy this
http://www.moates.net/ostrich-20-the...eed-p-169.html
Step 2) download this
http://www.tunerpro.net/
Step 3)
contact Rogue Tuning (or post on here asking for it) for a copy of the 944 tuner pro tuning file
You hook the ostrich to the DME chip socket and you can change anything you want about the tune.
Tunerpro is very easy to use and anyone should be able to tune it.

Thats great news! Hope to see you at Lime Rock in the spring. In the Albany area is Twisted Synergy (Rensselaer) and Quantum in Ravena, can't remember the name right now. But without an OBD II port to plug in, they probably can't do much. The only "for sure" shop I know of is 6 hours south. Thats John Behe Down in Maryland. As Jeff has mentioned, he does many of our cars in PCA racing series. He has done amazing things and knows our cars inside and out. Check out is Facebook page to see his caliber of work.
