Default Anyone try to Lighten Stock Flywheel?

I know there's the ultra-light Fidanza flywheel, but has anyone tried taking pounds off the stock flywheel? How much was it and how durable is it?

I've heard about the aluminum flywheels not being too durable and causing droppin-idle issues. Has anyone experience this?

In the end, I'll probably go with the Fidanza, but I just wanted to see what options are out there...

I would think any skilled machinist could do it. Just want to make sure the holes are drilled evenly so it's still balanced.

its useful in any car. reduction of rotating mass = faster accelerating/decelerating of engine rpm's = faster acceleration and quicker shifting (esp. with short shift kit)
