Default Brake or clutch hose

Was just in my engine bay today when I noticed this hose was resting on a reference sensor and had the reference sensor was starting to wear at the hose. It's not leaking yet but looks like it soon will be. Anybody know this hose and the procedure to change it? Will it be a big pain in the ***?

I believe thats the clutch master cylinder fill hose. The clutch master gets fluid from the brake master cylinder reservoir. Is it a pita to change? Probably, but what's not on the 944.

Yeah that's what I thought just tracing what I could see of the line last night. Guess I'll be doing that and bleedin the clutch. I'll be getting a power bleeder. Never bled the clutch before. I have done my brakes. I assume the concept is pretty much the same.

I just change the clutch hose on my 951 and it is a PITA. I barely got the hose on far enough to attach the clamp. I used a pressure bleeder and it worked great. Glad I did it because the fluid that came out was black. Last time I replaced the fluid I did not do the clutch.

I just replaced my clutch master and slave.... Was really not that bad..... Worst part is sticking you head down by the pedals to remove the clip that holds the master to the clutch pedal. I was lazy, so didn't pull my seats..... I am getting to like working down there..... First sign I am losing it! (I find with one foot propped on the door sill..... You can go from lower back agony to just highly uncomfortable!) You will also have to pull your starter to get to the bleeder on the slave.... (Assuming your car is like my '84!) the power bleeder is the way to go.... For me ten lbs was plenty.....I did more and blew the bleeder hose out.... Running around for parts, is an hour I won't get back in my lifetime..... And remember to have the bleeder on its side, on the same side as the hose, so your fluid can drain into the clutch/brake reservoir...... For me it was pretty easy....
But bare in mind I am no expert, and am still learning how to keep this puppy running!
Good luck!

If it is not leaking yet, you could cover it with some split loom tubing or something similar. It's not under any pressure, no real chance of it blowing a hole though the hose.

It's very close to leaking. There's a very deep indent in the hose and not much material left at that spot. Trying to do things right and fix them as soon as I can. Always playing catch up though it seems.
