Low oil pressure at idle and start / wavering idle when warm, any new data?

I agree with Kevin completly. Make sure your oprv is not corroded up, the alignment thru the oil cooler is good, and a new o-ring on it. Do look at the bulletin he refers to, all will become perfectly clear then.
Just for comparison purposes, my engine is the '85/2, (with the shorter) one peice OPRV. I have gone thru and cleaned all electrical connections and grounds. At cold startup, oil pressure immediately shoots up to 5 bar (within a split second, no throttle up). After engine is fully warmed up, engine idle pressure is at no lower than 2 bar. Oil pressure responds instantly to throttle. All pressure readings on gage are very steady/stable.
