Default Motormounts

For all of those that are thinking about cutting corners like I did 2 years and only 20k miles ago, think twice before you do it!

I'm talking about the cheap aftermarket motormounts that are dead after only a short time. Maybe the "real" are twice as much at first, but think about the long run (more then 2 years hopefully).

Any others with problem aftermarket motormounts in such a short period of time? I knew I was doing it the cheap way, but 2 years and 20k miles?

We understand. Typing just hasn't been the same since your little fingers fell off.

944racing list OEM motor mounts for $50. I e-mailed them to confirm that they were NOT the aftermarket ones and they said they weren't. Kinda hard to believe!

Could be OEM, but are they OE?

I just bought new mounts from vertex, the same product # that the mechanic was ordering, they are from Germany. Cost = $50.00 each. Should I be concerned?

If they haven't been installed yet, I would order new ones from paragon-products.com for $100 each and return the ones that vertex sent you. There was a post a while back that you can search for that shows pictures of the differences between the vertex mounts and the OE mounts that paragn sells.

Here's a picture... Your German ones are probably the aftermarket ones...

I'm telling you, spent the 200 bucks on the correct motormounts and forget problems for another 7 years. Don't be cheap, you'll do it twice like me.
