Default 944 NA Tire Fitment?

Hey folks, I've looked extensively for some guidance with tire sizes for my 944.

Here are the vitals:
'86 NA 944 (Canadian)
Euromeister 17x8 and 17x9 Fuchs

I am looking to fill out the fender wells agressively with wider tires without resorting to any mods (fender rolls, funky cambers).

The car will be mostly street driven with maybe an occasional track day in the furture.

Thanks for any input.

You should go by Porsche's OE size for the 968:

225/45/17
255/40/17

Have you upgraded the castor blocks in accordance with the Porsche TSB for fitting 17" wheels to a 944?

Also, I would reconsider using Euromeister wheels at a track day. They are produced in China with a largely unknown manufacturing and quality control process.

For a track day you should really be using a proven wheel. To get a good 17" wheel in proper fitment for your car is going to be expensive, so you can always use a 16", such as a Phonedial or Fuch. Or even go down to a 15". Just be sure to check them for cracks and bends and that they have a good history. (For example; I wouldn't run someone else's refurbished wheels, refurbing can hide cracks sometimes. Or someone else's abused wheels, etc.).

I've read similar concerns about tracking the repro fuchs. I have the OEM 15" phone dials I can use for track days as well.

Thanks for the heads up about the caster blocks. I'll research that.

I did order up the 225's and 255's.

Those replicas look pretty good.

Did you happen to weigh them before mounting tires? How are the lips finished...clear coat over cast aluminum?

Bringing back a thread from the dead, can someone confirm the offset for the 17" Euromeister 17x8 and 17x9 Fuchs pictured above for a '86 944 NA (early offset) car. Absolutely perfect fitment in my opinion!

did you have to use spacers in the front or back?

I’ve asked rose passion and they say that my 86 turbo would need spacers. Was that your case?
