Is there a 4 valve head that will bolt on to 87 2.5 block without major mods. Just doing research right now but will be looking for parts to make the conversion in the near future.

1987-1988 944S head bolts to the block just fine.
But you need to cut valve notches in the 944 pistons to fit.

Better off finding a complete 944S engine and swapping it in.
I have a friend with a complete 944S car full of parts (engine included) for probably $1000 here in CA if you are serious.

Do a search for "16v swap" or "dohc swap" and you'll find hundreds of pages of information.

The big thing is I have a 2.8 motor already .Darton sleeves ,Diamond pistons Woosner rods Electromotive stand alone engine management .I have a Mill so I can easily add the valve notches needed or have Diamond make me a new set .The gentleman who built the 8 valve cylinder head said its the choke point. It just can't flow enough . The ITB helps. So the next step is a better flowing head and my options are? The four valve head should flow better than the ported head with bigger valves I already have. If your friend has a head and other needed components than yep shoot me a price. Also thanks for the help I really appreciate any info or tips to help me along. The trail and error method is expensive.
