Maxilite Fuchs reps
#16
Does anyone have any experience with Maxilite wheels? They're a Swiss company that makes cheapish Fuchs replicas. I'm sure they're just cast, not forged like actual Fuchs, but they're only $800-$900 for a full, new 16" set, as opposed to the ridiculous prices actual 16" Fuchs have been commanding lately.
I've got 15" genuine Fuchs wheels right now and I really love them, but tire selection is pretty limited. Larger diameter early offset Porsche wheels are hard to find and typically very expensive. Wondering if it would be worth it to just go with a cheap new set of replicas instead.
Opinions welcome.

I just contacted Maxilite about weight. They got back to me within a couple minutes. Surprisingly, they're not too heavy. Heavier than actual Fuchs, but still not too bad. I'll ask them about the construction process next.
7x16: 16.31lbs
8x16: 17.42lbs
If I do end up pulling the trigger on these things, I'll be sure to weigh them myself to verify.
I've been scanning Craigslist and eBay for a while now. I'd love a set of 16" phone dials, but early offset ones don't come up very often and definitely cost a lot more than their 15" or late offset equivalents.

Maxilite Wheel coating Failure
A bit of a warning:
I purchased a set of the RS finished wheels made by Maxilite in 2020 from a reputable Porsche parts seller. I had planned on running these wheels for a while until I can get my Fuchs restored. Well, I got busy and didn’t have the tires mounted until recently. The wheels look great. I am very pleased with the appearance as they really made a big difference compared to my old tired Fuchs.
I had the tires mounted locally and installed the wheels myself on the car. I followed Porsche specs for tightening the lugs and on both rear wheels when I tighten down one of the nuts the Paint cracked around the lug nut and separated from the wheel underneath. Now I don’t expect the seller to help with the paint failure on the rim since I’m well outside their return window. I have tried multiple time to contact Maxilite to try to get this resolved, and have not received a response. If you do buy some make sure you get them mounted immediately so that you have some recourse with the seller. I’ll try to attach pictures.
The black paint cracked and fell off in the 10 o’clock position

Front wheel with no issues

Mine are on an SC. The rears are
911-362-115-00-7OE Maxilite Fuchs Style Alloy Wheel 16 x 7-inch 23.3mm Offset, Satin Finish
I believe they only made Fuchs for 83-86 944. Even if the offset is correct the calipers may be larger on the 944? I found this on renn
