There's nothing behind the nose panel that would be cooled that much. Now if it was a turbo- or super-charged car and there was an intercooler there...

My vented 931 header panel does allow my car to run a bit cooler. I can see the heat coming out of it after hard auto-x runs. That's gotta be worth somethin'................

I'm voting #1. I'm also considering going that route, too...

Default # 1 loom like anothe knock off

#1 is another knock off I don’t believe it looks like the GT front end. Look up a real Carerra GT on the net and you will see what I mean.

Just for the info, carrera gt front uses stock 944 euro lights. we are doing this convertion to a 931 atm. And by the way, i dont see why the 931 is getting any more use from the vented panel as it does not have an ic stock. and more cooling to the enginebay isnt that bad..

Go with #4. There's nothing wrong with the basic front spoiler of a 944 - aftermarket stuff just looks different, not necessarily better. The 931 header panel is the best thing you can do to improves the face of a 924/944 series car, IMHO, and is techincally a factory upgrade. Just my dos centavos - Al

I voted #2 however i think it would look even better with the Fiberwerks lip and GT-Racing's header panel #298 that has only one air hole that is half the width of all four on the 931 header panel, and half the height. http://www.gt-racing.com/catalog/gtr944.htm

The only problem that arises from that is that you now have an updated front end with no bumperettes, but the rear end still has them. I think it would look unbalanced. You could use GT-Racings #222/230 http://www.gt-racing.com/catalog/gtr944.htm to remove the bumperettes. This would total just over a grand w/o paint. Unless any of these places gives a member discount... do they?

Not to hijack the thread, unless i already did, who in here has that yellow NA with black bumpers? If that person could posts more pics, that would be nice. I think that may be another way to go. It would only be 400$ or so for the two bumpers from GT-Racing plus paint.

What do ya'll think?

first, a turbo front end is instantly recognizable as a car that has spectacular performance, and i don't want my lowly (but loved) 944S confused as such. the 931 header panel is hardly that recognizable to anyone but the most diehard of 924/944 fans

second, my car retains the stock look even with the 931 header panel because i have the stock bumper and spoiler.

third, to each his own - just my humble opinion as stated before

or you could do the pushed in painted bumper mod....but i guess i like to be different. I am planning on a lip and a 931 hood and nose panel.

Do you mean a lip that is kind of like those on the Carrera? I've seen a few of those for the 944, but not in a long time. Are they still available?

IMO nothing beats the refined yet aggresive look of the stock turbo bumper with an AIR splitter. I get comments every single day and I'm not kidding.
