I think car repair is what brought these other groups together. Then the groups grew from that. That is not a neccesary factor. but it probably helped.. Battle Creek seems central to most of the guy's and gals. I-94 exit 98 is connected to I-194 I beleive and many restaurants and such, could get caravans going each direction to the central point and meet up? After that? tour the kellogs factory?...LOL.. I would show up just for the drive. I work 6 days aweek right now and could only make a saturday trip.. There that is something to do or atleast a meeting place.. Unless some one needs help I am willing to travel and have all tools.. Give me a week with your tranny and I can do synchros... and such. I work in a factory as an industrial mechanic and have access to many tool room machines. Ask and I will let you know what I can do to help....

Three Wheelin'
I'm from Royal Oak! I just started full time at Visteon in Dearborn a few months ago. My baby has been sitting on the street infront of my house for two months since I slid it into a curb over 696. I have a new lower control arm for it and will be getting it back on the road very soon and would love to meet some other local guys.
We should meet at kart2kart in Sterling Heights sometime soon, I need to recharge my "member" card.

Lo there Quickbeam, I drive your way every few days...
There seems to be a fair amount of interest in doing something still this year. Anyone have a suggestion for a central location with space to park and meet? What sort of dates are convenient? Two or three weekends off?
Cheers,
Sach

Scott, were you at the LSPR last weekend? I'm considering setting my 944 up for Group 5. Maybe I could pick your brain a bit?

No I didn't run LSPR last weekend. The cage rules changed mid-saeson and I have not had time or money to update. I saw your note on the rally-tsd page. You must not have seen my reply. I'd list the link here - but I think there is only one thread, so it should be too hard to find.
Contact me off list if you want advice, suggestions, etc.
BTW, my avatar is from the spectator stage at LSPR in 2001. Below is from Brockway last year.

how do groups like the Texas Greaseslingers and KC Wrenching Society keep communication going?
I dont know about the KC guys but we used the main forum and then the regions to keep in touch. Now that we all know each other, we have cell numbers etc. Some of us talk to each other more than others. I.e. Brian and I talk alot, Kevin and Brian talk alot, so and so and so and so. Once you know each other things go pretty darn smooth. I suspect the next time we have a get together there will be more people that show up.

Looks like the SoCal group had a good turnout.
