I'm going on a karting trip Nov. 2nd to this track, and I was just wondering if anyone here has been here before.

REAL karts don't have roll hoops OR seatbelts... track looks cool though. Is the karting outing organized by your FSAE team???

A group of us usually go once a month to the local indoor tracks and it is too much fun (until someone puts you up over the wall). Try it once and you'll be hooked. Out here Wednesday is bikini night and girls race free. Any guy that brings two girls in bikini's races free. I usually bring my pregnant wife, her mother and granmother. Anything for a free race .

My work has a meeting at a place like that each year. It is usually held by Michelin to tell us about the new products that will be coming out and what not. Well, the racing is AWESOME. That good that me and my boss went back to our store and we told all our guys that we will schedule a time for our shop to go...then we found out how much it costs...

Try $800 an HOUR for ONLY eight people!!! We had 15 people there...Michelin picks up the tab.

Yeah, it was organized by the FSAE team leader. They're actually going to use lap times there to try and see who would be the best drivers. Should be a lot of fun, even if I end up in the back of the pack.

That's exactly what we're doing. In fact, the way we have it set up is that we go several times during the year and score it like a F1 season but also taking into account lap times. We then take the top four drivers to drive in Detroit. If there's a tie for 4th, like last year, we end up going karting again to settle the score. Unfortunately our best driver is in England at Cranfield University studying Motorsport Engineering and Management, BUT at least somebody else actually has a chance at winning a race.
