Any one know the thickness of the dizzy gasket?

I scraped mine off thinking I'd get a new one with the head gasket kit. Unfortunately the kit doesn't include one, and I don't want to pay another 30 to 40 dollars postage to get the gasket by itself from the US.

So I'm thinking I could just cut one out of some gasket material?

no idea on thickness but you should be OK just using double-sided foam tape cut to fit.

although i haven't run that gasket in 10 years...
