Default I am back

It looks like there are still a few familiar "faces" around here.

I'm not looking for a celebration, but I am looking for some motivation to get my car back on the road. A house purchase, job change, and two different daily drivers kept me out of the Porsche world for about two years but I getting the itch.

Because threads without pictures suck, here is an old photo to remind the longer term members:

The car started and ran yesterday and I plan to throw new belts on it in the next few weeks. Maybe some euro bumpers to freshen it up a little.

[its been so long, I accidentally bumped an old thread.]

Thanks. Good to see some familiar names and cars.

Hopefully the whole euro bumper thing works out. I may start working on the next engine after that.

Welcome back! I think you showed up after I left the first time- was here in 2006-2007, then came back late last year when I picked up another 944...

Gorgeous 924- love it!

Hey... i've seen that sweet ride with my own eyes!

btw, do you know i drove right by your house the other day (at least the one outside if Des Moines).

and then again, i've prolly driven fairly close to half of EVERYBODY'S HOUSE in the last 45 days with LA to KC by way of Arizona, Texas and Oky... then back to LA by way of Colorado and Utah... then up to Nebraska, Iowa and Chicago... up to Boston.... down to Baltimore night before last and back to Boston the next day..... and done put over 8k miles more on the Sledgehammer (i've put 25k miles on this car since September).

nice to see you back. get her back on the road.

Wow, that's quite the travel schedule.

Where can I see updated pictures and information on your car?

Progress is slow, but we are moving forward.

Fuel drained
Fuel filter replaced
Fresh gas added

The car has a miss. My temp gun says #2 is dead. I confirmed this by pulling the #2 plug wire and it made no change. I do have spark however. fearing the worst, I checked compression. It was a cheap rental tool and I don't think I got a great seal, but all readings were around 140 or better.

Unless I am missing something, I think I've got an injector or harness issue. Any thoughts?

lightly tap on the #2 injector as it's running. LIGHTLY.

This after adding a full bottle of TECHRON to a full tank of fresh fuel.
It will free up. Almost 100% sure of it, as I have done this numerous times to Porsches and Audis to get them to re-awaken.

( and not always in the driveway of the guy trying to sell his car after it's sat for 5 years without running ) That only seems to make him think it's suddenly not for sale or has just had another 1,000 dollars of added value attached.
