Default Parts check for front reseal

I have an oil leak from one or more of the front seals. I'm about to change the timing belt anyway so I just want to make sure I get all the right parts first. Last time I did this (3 1/2 years ago) I replaced absolutely every oil seal including the complete cam tower set and all the metal spacers. I am pretty sure the cam seal isn't leaking, but I think it's coming from at least the upper balance shaft (maybe both). I was thinking I should get:

* both balance shaft seals
* onion skin seals
* crank seal just in case

Is there anything else I'm missing? It's been leaking since very soon after I did it, so I'm assuming there's no way the metal spacers could have worn that quickly?

3.5 years is a short time to have to replace FOES. Could be a turbo thing?

By "metal spacers" , do you mean the races?

Did you replace the 2 races on the balance shaft 3.5 years ago? Or the camshaft race?

The oil pump seal will also leak if the front oil pump drive sleeve has even a minor slight groove.

Just ideas.

Thanks...I don't think it's a turbo thing. All the oil is coming from inside the timing cover. It started happening in much less than 3.5 years. Probably almost immediately to be honest, but I had other leaks then so I couldn't tell for sure.

Yes the metal spacers I was talking about are the metal pieces that go on the balance shafts etc. I replaced absolutely all of those metal pieces, including the oil pump drive, and every wiper seal, o-ring, onion skin seal etc. I used the Paragon kit that includes everything: http://www.paragon-products.com/Fron...101.000.02.htm

Actually they have a handy breakdown of all the parts on that page so I will use that figure out which ones I need.

Just be aware the lower balance shaft seal is a reverse direction seal and different from the upper balance shaft/camshaft seals.

Did you use every piece in your kit from Paragon, or did you have some left over?
