Anybody remember that song? That was me today at the DC area Deutsche Marque Concours today. Didn't hang around for the awards. Getting 1st place because I had the only car in the class seemed rather hollow

Nice car, though! FWIW, if I were local and showed up, you still would've won.

You have the rarest porsche in the lot. That sounds better doesn't it?

Imagine how lonely you'd feel if you had 959.

There were a bunch of us who had planned on attending but opted not to due to the weather. How wet was the field? I had anticipated it would be a mud bog after everyone started walking all over the place.

NEVER feel bad about awards for your hard work, no matter what the competition. You've got a great looking car and that's special.

"Now that tune is stuck in my head."

Sorry about that Marc

"How wet was the field? I had anticipated it would be a mud bog after everyone started walking all over the place."

The field wasn't too bad, I thought it might be mushy where you pull off the asphalt and it was, I stayed to one side and it was OK. Got pretty messy as more cars arrived though. A couple of bare spots on the top of the field were still muddy. I escaped mud free by going between the trees to the gravel road that borders the park.

Thanks for the complements guys, I won first place here in 2014 against few other cars but I felt I earned that. I missed the show last year and apparently they only had two entrants. Bring them out and show them off guys. They don't have to be perfect. Just having a 25 to 40 year old survivor. is something to be proud of.

Lot of people stopped by and talked to me about it and the judges were impressed with it's originality. I imagine there were some negatives muttered somewhere but I never heard any. A common theme was these are underrated and undervalued cars. Brings to mind a quote from someone I can't remember, "Some people know the cost of everything and the value of nothing."
