You probably wont get pulled over for no front plate, but when you get pulled over for something else, they will probably tack on that violation. Did the same thing in CA a few years back. Got pulled over for speeding, but CHP just gave me a fix it ticket for the plate. So it worked for me.

So from what i got so far i think i'm going to remove it, put it in the glove box, and if a cop asks the bracket broke and I'll have it fixed soon. You don't think a cop would see through this lie on a car like this were an owner would want to remove the plate?

TAKE IT OFF- Yeah it's illeagle, but...
1. It ruins the look of the front end,
2. Put it under the rear seat floormat and tell the cop you waiting to put it on
3. You shouldn't be driving if youv'e been drinking anyways....
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY (and not mentioned yet!)
4. The plate occupies 40-50% of the air intake for the intercooler. These cars need that air and were designed so. Euro plates don't block that much needed space. Ours unfortunately do, the top and bottom air intakes are effected. It's worth not having the front plate and maybe getting pulled over once, but more than likely you won't. Air man, gotta have air!
It'd be like running a race while choking yourself!

Couldn't you just trim off the excess of the plate, leaving the numbers intact, then use paint thinner and remove the reflective paint, then repaint using enamels in similar colors?
That would cut down the reflectability, I would think, and increase the air flow.
