Default PRICE CHECK/ what is the fair market value for sale: 1987 951 (aka Turbo)

Hi there guys,

Looking to let the 951 go and keep the 951S.

Has 112K original miles, the body is a 9 out of 10, everything is there, it sounds nice with a full exhaust and headers, Lindsey fuel rail & boost control, suspension upgrade and 18" wheels, sorry no good photos YET!!!

It does need a new clutch replacement which will be replaced soon or sold without.

Trying to get a fair market value...

Please provide your input.

carfax? does it have records? any pictures of the interior? with a bad clutch I doubt you'll get anything over 4-5k with a good clutch and proper maintenance and records 7-10k maybe more depending if the car is stock, modified cars do not appreciate as much as stock low miles examples.

My original thought was that it would be booking around 10K to start depending on condition....

Bad clutch will make it a lot less marketable. Many people aren't willing/able to take on that big a job. I think maybe 6-7k without the clutch and 10k+ with it done.

I did some searching on comparable cars last night and pretty much came up with around 8K on a stock (bad clutch), 10K on a stock (new clutch) and possibly more with mods.

I think it's fair to ask for 12K with a new clutch and see where that goes.

Thank you guys for your feedback,

A 951 with above 100K miles seems to be the most difficult Porsche to price. It seems like if you go above 150K miles, you might as well give it away to charity or something even if it's in immaculate condition. So, I guess I'll be keeping my 200K mile car until it completely gives up the ghost.
