Short daily drive = trouble?

Close, but I work in Jersey City....so I take the 5:31 Hoboken/Dover train.
Do you drive the yellow hornet to the station in the morning? I always glance over at the Millburn lot to see if I see your car!

Leave the car out in the open? Drive five minutes and not get the engine warmed up? Who do you think I am, you?? No, she sits in the garage covered during the week. I either walk or have wifey take me depending on the weather.

Andy, my commute is 4.5 miles with 2 stops on the way in (daycare and coffee), I've been doing this for years and I just replaced the factory cat a couple weeks ago. The cat-back was put on by the PO at least 6-7 years ago and I'm still hoping it'll fall off so I can upgrade. Condensation isn't an issue!
Change the oil regularly and take it for a long drive a couple times a month.

You guys don't know how lucky you are. I have to drive 20 miles to the train station and then commute another 20 miles on the train. On many days, I have a 3 hour round trip commute for just 2 hours of classes.

I would worry more about the fuel control never really coming out of it's warmup mode. You're running richer than you should be, with no chance to vaporize any unspent fuel that gets by the rings and into the cranckcase. Pull your dipstick and see if you smell any sign of gasoline, if not then you're probably just getting warm enough. If so then shorten your oil change interval, and try to find a way to bring it up to operating temperature before you shut down.
