I've never connected a voltmeter to mine so now I'm curious if it is active or if this is just coming from the DME and the 87 engine is missing the probe.
Interesting info, thanks. Maybe I will try my multimeter on the plug to see what it reads.

Ah, thanks for the tips guys. It is that exact connector, so I guess it's not supposed to go anywhere.

All of the other engine connectors appear to be fine, so I'm wondering what else I should try. If anything I should just do some basic compression tests to see the health of the engine.

I found another funny little tidbit today in the car, it was an oil change sticker from a Jiffy Lube. It said to change the oil by 119,000 miles or by 6/12/2011. So there's a good chance this car hasn't run in like 5 years.

Plus you don't know yet if the odometer gear is broken.

So you still don't have any hints of it starting? You might even have to get a replacement DME if all else fails. Also check for a collapsing fuel line at the fuel pump.

I you have tack bounce as you said then I suspect the sensors are fine.
Your injectors may be toast too but typically you would get something out of them.
