A/C Switch Reversed
I'm relatively new to the forum and just purchased a 1986 944. I ran a search and found a lot of previous discussions on replacing faulty A/C switches in the cabin but I did not find anything specific to my issue.
My issue is that the operation of the A/C switch is reversed. When I press the A/C switch in (and the green light activates) the A/C turns off in the car. When I press the button again and it pops out (green light goes off), the A/C turns on (compressor engages) and blows cold.
If it is just a faulty switch then I can move forward with a switch replacement but I want to make sure this will resolve my issue before I go through the hassle of replacing the switch.
Is it possible that some wiring/soldering for the switch has been reversed to cause this issue?
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions
